Your pupil hammered out the classic complete Exum route 2,000 feet up
Grand Teton yesterday with his climbing partner Pat Ormond. I watched
every pitch from base camp. Beautiful. Stunning effort from the mellow
kid. I’m blown away. He did the lower technical ridge in about 2
hours, partly in the dark with headlamps. Wow!
I thought you should know since you taught him how to do it. It was
one of the best experiences of my life to watch him.
Best~
Peter H.

The Urban Core Climbing Team Program is progressively focused on developing, fundamental rock climbing skills, building self confidence, developing teamwork, and open communication, celebrating diversity, establishing goals and learning how working towards them. The team program is an opportunity for youth climbers to continue climbing skills throughout the school year while building camaraderie and learning sport ethics and sportsmanship. Team members meet challenges and exult in success. Empowered by their own personal experience, they are ready to meet change and challenge in their daily lives.
The Urban Core Climbing Team Program has four unique teams to suit the n
eeds of new and seasoned climbers alike. The CLUB TEAM and the JR. TEAM are non-competitive recreation teams comprised of youth climbers from around the metro-Atlanta area. They meet once a week for a structured organized practice and enjoy the exposure to the outdoors and team socials. The JR. COMPETITIVE TEAM and the COMPETITIVE TRAINING TEAM is the top ranked competition team in the southeast. These two teams train to participate in sanctioned climbing competitions throughout the year. These teams explore the many disciplines of indoor and outdoor climbing and camping adventures.
We work effortlessly to coordinate with the school calendars, school breaks, and the holidays. For this reason, our team selection and enrollment process takes place late August and early January. Climbers inquiring about our programs throughout the season should contact our office to discuss team options and schedule a team assessment.
