Black History Month Featured Climber-Kai Lightner

Congratulations to Kai Lightner who was featured in the Fayetteville Observer on Black History Month. Kai is of 4 city spotlights of featured Black leaders in his community. Kai has been a satellite team member of Urban Core Climbing and has traveled to Atlanta 1-2 times a month and all vacations for 5 years for private coaching w/ coach, Emily Taylor. He is a positive and motivating team leader oclimbs with is home team, TRC in NC. We are extremely proud of all of the hard work Kai has put into his climbing, focus and determination! We are looking forward to seeing Kai next week and celebrating all of his recent accomplishments which includes being the youngest member of the National Evlov Team.

Congratulations! The Urban Core Climbing Team has won FIRST place in the 2011 TeamWorks competition!! We at the Access Fund just wanted to extend a special thank you to you and your kids for doing such an awesome job in this year’s program, and for all the stewardship you’ve done in the Southeast.

We will be receiving the the first prize cash grant this year!!

9th Annual Belay-a-thon Fundraiser!

Looking for something exciting to do next weekend for you, family or friends? Experience the fun of indoor rock climbing!

Urban Core Climbing will be hosting the 9th Annual Belay-a-thon Scholarship fundraiser this Saturday, Jan 21st from 9a-2p @ Stone Summit Climbing & Fitness Center.

Our event supports the Urban Core Climbing community youth climbing program, summer camps and team scholarship program.

Come and try indoor rock climbing for $2 for each wall climbed and support our 2012 campaign efforts. We will have a silent auction for cool climbing stuff and local business swag!

all participants must complete a Stone Summit Waiver. Participants can complete one online or at the door.

Urban Core Climbing hosts 9th Annual Belay-a-thon

The Urban Core Climbing Team is hosting our 9th Annual Belay-a-thon Scholarship Fundraiser Sat. Jan 21st.8a-2p. This event raises money for summer camp scholarships for deserving youth, and team scholarships for talented youth climbers in our area. This successful event has brought our community together. Last year we belayed over 500 people from the surrounding neighborhoods. Urban Core Climbing is the only youth climbing program in the southeast that offers scholarships to deserving climbers who may not be able to afford the fees of training, competing, or attending one of our signature camps. All members of the Urban Core Climbing Team and family members participate in belaying and collecting money from the general public for a small fee.Stone Summit donates their earnings to our program during this time. Team members are on hand to educate the public on our stewardship program, scholarship program, our team and summer camp series, and the sport of indoor rock climbing all while having fun and keeping climbers safe.
